Youth Olympic Games 2010

There is still 500 over days to the first Youth Olympic Games(YOG),which will be held in Singapore. Those whose CCA is under the sports category, you may want to represent Singapore in the YOG. Even you are not in the CCA of the event,eg. Taekwondo, you may participate in the community centre class and they may chose you to join the YOG.
The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Commitee(SYOGOC)said they need more youth to join the recruitment drive for wrestling,boxing and taekwondo. Set up 3 months ago, the Wrestling Federation of Singapore(WFS) have alredy lined up a host of events to get more youngsters on board. They would need 16 athletes in their squad. 2 boys and 2 girls have already joined the squad since September 2008.Interest is high in community centre(CC) as well.
The YOG, which is the first to be held will be held in Singapore from 14 August 2010 to 26 August 2010. The Games will welcome more than 3000 athletes aged between 14 to 18 years old. it features 26 sports, competing 201 events. Taekwondo will feature 10 events,boxing 11 events and wrestling 14 events.
