CHALLENGING PROBLEMS PART TROIS
1) Kelly spent $84 on pens, mechanical pencils and correction tapes in the ratio of 4:5:3. Pens were sold at 3 for $1. The number of mechanical pencils she bought was 1/6 the number of pens. The number of correction tapes was 5/7 of that of the mechanical pencils.
(a) How many correction tapes did she buy altogether?

2) Lucy was driving from Town Y to Town X at an average speed of 74km/h. Sarah was driving from Town X to Town Y on the same road. ON the way, Sarah passed Lucy at City M.
2h after they passed each other, Sarah reached Town Y but Lucy was still 71km away from Town X. Sarah took 5h to travel from Town X to Town Y. The driving speed of each motorist remained the same for the whole journey.
